Inspired Wednesday – Jeremiah 17:8

Disclosure Policy

Welcome to this weeks Inspired Wednesday!  Sorry that it is almost Thursday.  Life has been a bit chaotic and I have fallen ill.  I pray that things will get back to normal soon so I can get back to writing and doing the things that I love.

Let me Inspire You -

It has been a wet, wet, spring and summer.  Yet we have a beautiful garden full of thriving plants that are bearing tons of fruit for our harvest.  My hubby and Father-in-Law have worked hard tending to these plants.  They have kept them warm when it was cold.  Watered them when they were thirsty.  They gave them food when they were hungry.  They nurtured them and helped them to thrive and grow.  I know that it is because of this process our garden is plentiful.

Jeremiah 17:8 - Where He Leads We FollowWe are not unlike these plants.  The Lord is tending to us.  He is nurturing us and taking care of us.  He is seeing to it that we are warm when it is cold and that we will be ready to grow when it is time to be planted. This year it has rained, and rained, and rained.  If you are on the East Coast of the US, then you know just what I am talking about.  I don’t know that I have seen such a wet spring and summer.  Hubby and Father-in-Law spent a lot of time in our hot house early this year prepping plants for planting.  Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers (hot and sweet), corn, and cabbage, just to name a few.  They took care of the plants for months.  They kept them warm when it was cold out and saw to it that they were well watered and maintained.  I am sure that is the reason that these plants have stood the wet weather so well.  They were sown with love and care.  They were looked after and pruned.  They were nurtured and planted at just the right time.

I don’t know about you but I often times get in a rush to be planted.  I want to speed up His timing.  I want to take root and blossom.  So I jump ship, and plant myself.  When that happens I find myself wilted on the floor and unable to keep up with the task of keeping myself alive.  It is in that moment that I realize that I must lean on Him.  I must await his planting so that I may grow and bloom.  It isn’t easy.  It isn’t what I want.  But it is what I need.
